LPS+™ has a proven track record of preventing and reducing losses in businesses over a span of four decades. With roots that began in the mining industry in the early 70s and branching out into oil and gas in the 90s, we have had a global presence in over 100 countries worldwide in 10+ industries.

Associates

JIM BENNETT, PH. D.

Dr. Jim Bennett has worked with hundreds of organizations over the past 46 years in loss prevention and safety management.
His U.S. and international consulting includes extensive experience with operating companies, equipment manufacturers, and government organizations such as: ExxonMobil, Chevron, Sumitomo, Caltex Australia, Imperial Oil (Canada), Raizen (Brazil), NASA, and the Environmental Protection Agency, just to mention a few. Jim was an Airborne Ranger in the U. S. Army, where he served overseas in Vietnam and Germany as a Company Commander and Nuclear Weapons Officer. He began his industrial career as a UMWA underground coal miner, working as a general laborer and equipment operator. Dr. Bennett was a faculty member of The Pennsylvania State University for 12 years.

JOE SMYTH

Joe Smyth has worked with clients over the past 22 years to develop a “Loss Free Culture” and achieve business improvements impacting bottom-line profits.
He has managed single and multi-site projects across 40 different countries in multiple industries throughout North America, Europe, Africa, Australia, and Asia. Before joining LPS+™, Inc. in 1998, Joe spent 15 years with a multi-national manufacturing company in the mining and petrochemical industry in supervisory and management positions in construction, maintenance, production, risk management, safety, and engineering. Joe has a B.S. in Mining Engineering from Missouri University School of Science and Technology.

GERMAN CALLE

German Calle has more than 17 years of experience as an LPS+™, Inc. consultant working with many different clients in multiple industries in North America, Latin America, Europe, and Asia.
Prior to joining LPS+™, Inc., German worked for a multi-national manufacturing company for 31 years and held managerial positions in sales, finance, technical, and operations. As a safety manager in Latin America, he led a team that deployed LPS+™ to all downstream activities in Latin America and, because of the positive step change in loss prevention performance, LPS+™ was adopted throughout all of Downstream and Midstream Operations as the best practice. German has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame.

DEVIN BENNETT, PH. D.

Dr. Devin Bennett has worked as a loss prevention consultant for the last 22 years with Ernst & Young LLP and LPS+™, Inc.
Devin has assisted Fortune 500 companies to privately-owned businesses in loss prevention implementation and sustainability activities in the petroleum, chemical, steel, manufacturing, transportation, environmental, architecture, and financial services industries in North America, Central America, South America, and Europe. Devin received his Ph.D. in Organizational Systems and Leadership Transformation from Saybrook University, MBA from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio and MIM (Master of International Management), specializing in risk management, from Thunderbird Graduate School in Glendale, Arizona.

ANIELA QUINTANILHA

Prior to joining LPS+™, Aniela worked at multi-national manufacturing companies, totaling 14+ years of experience.
During this period, Aniela held several leadership positions in the area of Safety, Health and Environment. Aniela was assigned as Supply and Distribution SHE Advisor for Brazil, Argentina and Chile where she assisted Regional Executives in their ste­­wardship and management of LPS+™. She worked as LPS+™ Team Leader in the implementation of LPS+™ at its sugar cane mills, airports and distribution terminals. She also held the position of SHE Manager, where she worked in the development of a safety culture at the orange juice and oilseeds operations. Aniela received her Bachelors in Electrical Engineering and her specialization on Safety Engineering at Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro.

ROB MENZIES

Prior to joining LPS+™, Inc., Rob worked for a multi-national manufacturing company for 35 years.
Rob has over 10+ years of experience in the implementation, sustainability, and performance assessment of LPS+™ principles at various sites across North America and Europe. During his career, he specialized in environmental research, industrial hygiene, occupational health and safety, and the application and sustainability of LPS+™. Rob has a B.A. from Bowdoin College.

BILL DOHERTY

Bill Doherty joined LPS+™, Inc. after working 38 years with a multi-national manufacturing company in various managerial positions around the world.
In recent years, Bill managed and implemented LPS+™ as the SSHE Manager for Global Real Estate, Facilities, and Environmental Services. He was actively engaged in LPS+™ activities and supporting the organization’s LPS+™ sustainability efforts. Other primary experiences include Downstream Capital Project Development and Execution, Refining Operations and Technical Support, and Research Support Services. Bill has a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Rhode Island.

CHRIS WEBB

Chris Webb joined LPS+™, Inc. in 2016 following his retirement from a multi-national manufacturing company after nearly 36 years of service.
Chris Webb joined LPS+™, Inc. in 2016 following his retirement from a multi-national manufacturing company after nearly 36 years of service. Chris was Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Manager at a UK refinery for 3 years. He then led the team that rolled out LPS+™ at the site. Following a very successful launch done in close collaboration with LPS+™, Inc., Chris was assigned as European Advisor for a multi-national client for LPS+™ where he assisted the Refineries and Chemical Plants in Europe to successfully and sustainably implement LPS+™. Whilst Chris' main LPS+™ roll was within manufacturing, he also has experience with other parts of the business including Lubricants and Fuels. Prior to being assigned as SHE manager, Chris had very wide experience within UK refinery within Operations, Technical Department, and as Training Manager. Chris also spent time as a shift site manager. Chris has a BSc in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College, London.

PIETER ZANDBERG

Prior to joining LPS+™, Inc., Pieter worked at two multi-national manufacturing companies for 33 years.
During his 33 years, he held several leadership positions in mechanical engineering, process engineering and risk management. For the last 10 years working at a multi-national company, he was an LPS+™ Core Team lead within the Global Manufacturing Deployment. He then became a Regional LPS+™ Team Leader overseeing Europe, Africa and Pakistan. During the latter position, he assisted Regional Executives in their stewardship and management of LPS+™ to address all types of unplanned costs in Manufacturing, Marketing, Lubricants, Logistics, Environmental, Legal, Finance and IT functions. Pieter received his Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology and Communication Management degree at the Potchefstroom University.
